While some say, “All good things must come to an end,” at Height, good things don’t end — they get better. Our initial rollout of Task forms V1 was highly anticipated and greatly appreciated, but Task forms V2 opens up a whole new world of possibilities.

From customizable task form questions that bring clarity and structure to ticket reporting, to automated subtask creation that helps you manage tasks without skipping a beat, migrating your task forms to V2 will take your productivity to new heights — we promise!

Migrating from V1 to V2

From Product settings → Task forms, V1 Task forms will have a migration section listed in the template that details updated features supported in V2.

In addition to warning you that your V1 task form will be deprecated on September 4, 2022, a button to migrate to V2 will be listed to immediately upgrade your form to the latest version.

Once migrated, the task form will be updated to reflect all features supported in V2.

*NOTE: Migrating your task forms from V1 to V2 is not reversible.

Configuring your Task form V2 features

Questions, attributes, and subtasks – oh, my! Migrating your task form to V2 means you can streamline task creation by:

Adding required/optional Task form questions

The questions section of the task form allows you to fully customize your task creation with structure and clarity. Question prompts can be listed as optional or required, and can be linked to attributes and fields to do things like auto-fill descriptions or pre-set a Status, Tag, or Due date.

Adding default Task form attributes

Have a workflow that requires tasks to be created with specific attributes? By adding attributes to the task form, you can do things like auto-assign the task to specific teammates, associate it with specific lists, set it to a specific priority, and so much more!

Adding automated subtasks

Breaking tasks into smaller chunks of work can oftentimes simplify task management and execution. So what better way to ensure that each part is accounted for than by setting a task form to auto-create subtasks!

After adding subtasks to the form, you can rest assured that no part of the process ever slips through the cracks because the subtasks will be created automatically.
