Your store's currency is a Shopify setting, not an Atlas one. Changing it affects several Atlas settings that hold a fixed number, so there is a short checklist to run afterwards. Prices Atlas displays follow Shopify automatically and need no attention.
In this article:
Changing it in Shopify
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings, then General.
Under Store defaults, change the currency.
Save.
⚠️ Changing your base currency does not convert your product prices. A product priced at 50 stays at 50 in the new currency, which may be a very different amount of money. Review your prices immediately after changing.
Selling in several currencies
If you want to show local currencies to international customers, use Shopify Markets rather than changing your base currency. Markets converts prices automatically for each visitor while your base currency stays fixed.
Atlas displays whatever Shopify presents, so this works without any Atlas configuration.
What follows automatically
These need no attention after a currency change, because Atlas reads them from Shopify:
Product prices in bundle offers
Compare-at prices
Cart item prices and the subtotal
Prices on generated pages
Upsell product prices
What you must check afterwards
Some Atlas settings hold a number you typed, and that number does not convert.
Setting | Where | Why it matters |
Reward bar | Cart drawer, reward progress bar | A threshold of 50 is now 50 of a different currency |
Shipping protection | Cart drawer, shipping protection | The fee is now a different real amount |
Fixed amount discounts | Bundle offers | The discount value changed in real terms |
Specific prices on an offer | Bundle offers | The price changed in real terms |
Cost of goods in the AI wizard | Bundle AI wizard | Any offers generated from it are now based on the wrong figure |
⚠️ A free shipping threshold of 50 that was sensible in one currency can be far too low or far too high in another. This is the setting most likely to cost you money after a currency change, and nothing will warn you.
Also check the Shopify automatic discount behind your reward bar, since its minimum purchase amount is a fixed number too.
The checklist
Run this immediately after changing currency.
Review all product prices in Shopify.
Open your active cart drawer and check the reward bar threshold.
Check the shipping protection price.
Open each active bundle and check any fixed amount discount or specific price.
Check the Shopify automatic discounts backing your reward bar.
Place a test order to confirm everything reads sensibly end to end.
💡 Percentage-based bundle discounts survive a currency change untouched, because a percentage is a percentage. If you sell internationally or expect to change currency, percentages are the lower-maintenance choice.
