Property Intercom / Call Box

Use this article to get into the building when the entrance uses an intercom or call box.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies at a property where the building entrance uses an intercom or call box.

What is a property intercom or call box?

A call box or building intercom is a panel at the building entrance or gate, with a directory of names and a keypad. To get in for a Landing job, you find Landing in the directory, call it, and enter the code from your access instructions to unlock the door.

This gets you into the building only. Once you are inside, use the unit's own access method to get into the home.

How do I get into the building with a property intercom or call box?

  1. Start the job in the Host App and tap "Access Instructions." This tells you where the intercom is and gives you the unlock code.

  2. Find the intercom or call box at the entrance.

  3. Scroll through the directory and select Landing.

  4. When prompted, enter the code from your access instructions to unlock the door.

If the door does not unlock, work through these first

  1. Check you are at the right property and building. Open the job in the Host App and check the address in the job information, then make sure you are at that building and its entrance.

  2. Check the code and the steps. Re-open the access instructions, make sure you entered the code exactly as listed, and that you followed the steps in order.

If it still will not open, check the following and have the answers ready before you reach out, then let Landing know what is happening and say which home you are in:

  • Is Landing listed on the intercom directory?

  • Does the listing call a person or ask you to enter a code?

  • Does the code work when you enter it?

  • If it calls someone, can they hear you?

Having these answers ready helps Landing get you in faster.
