Keypad

Use this article to get into the building when the entrance uses a keypad.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies at a property where the building entrance uses a keypad.

What is a keypad?

A keypad is a number pad at the building entrance. You get in by entering a code and then pressing a confirm key. The code and the confirm key are both in your access instructions in the Host App. This gets you into the building only. Once you are inside, use the unit's own access method to get into the home.

How do I get into the building with a keypad?

  1. Start the job in the Host App and tap "Access Instructions." This gives you the code and tells you which confirm key to press.

  2. Enter the code on the keypad at the entrance.

  3. Press the confirm key. This is often the # key, but on some keypads it is the * key, a checkmark, or an unlock or bell button. Your access instructions say which one to use.

If the door does not unlock

If the door does not unlock, work through these first:

  1. Check you are at the right property and building. Open the job in the Host App and check the address in the job information, then make sure you are at that building and its entrance.

  2. Re-enter the code and confirm key exactly as shown in your access instructions.

If it still will not open, note any error or message on the keypad, then let Landing know what is happening and say which home you are in.
