KeyCafe

Use this article to get into the property and the unit when the home uses a KeyCafe.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies at a home that uses a KeyCafe.

What is a KeyCafe?

A KeyCafe is a smart key locker, usually on the property, that holds the physical keys for the home. You collect the keys with a code on the KeyCafe screen, use them to get in, and return them by scanning a fob when you finish. The KeyCafe location and your code are in your access instructions in the Host App.

How do I collect the keys from the KeyCafe?

  1. Start the job in the Host App and tap "Access Instructions" to get the KeyCafe location and your code.

  2. Go to the KeyCafe, touch the screen, and select "Pickup Keys."

  3. Enter your code and press "Enter" to open the bin.

  4. Take the keys and fobs from the bin, and use them to get into the building and the unit.

How do I return the keys?

Return all the keys and fobs to the KeyCafe at the end of your job. Do not put the keys back without scanning the fob first.

  1. On the KeyCafe screen, select "Drop off Key."

  2. Scan the fob on the designated area to open the bin.

  3. Put the keys in the bin and close it.

Failing to return the keys to the KeyCafe after your job may result in a strike, and repeated issues may result in removal from the platform.

If you cannot get in or return the keys

  1. Check your code. Re-check it in your access instructions and enter it again.

  2. If the bin still will not open, the keys are not there, the fob will not scan, or anything else does not work, let Landing know what is happening and say which home you are in. Landing has someone on site who may be able to help, and that is arranged through Landing.
