As Landing continues to grow, so does our Host Community! We asked some of our most experienced Hosts in each market to share a piece of advice with newer Hosts on our platform. This is what they said:

My advice is to familiarize yourself with the details of your job description so you don't miss an important task. It's also important to be very observant of the apartment. For example, make mental notes of how each apartment is situated and what items belong in the specific areas, so when you have other assignments to complete, you can easily spot if something is missing or doesn't belong in that room. Also, when I'm scheduled for a tour, I find out what amenities the building has to offer in addition to local grocery stores, pharmacy, restaurants, and good attractions nearby. - Sophian Defrance, New York City, NY

Never be afraid to ask questions, always work as if someone's watching, and keep your cleaning supplies in something with wheels for easy mobility. - Joell Regal, Birmingham, AL

Great communication is an essential skill to have because hosts are the middle man between Landing and members. Hosts who can communicate effectively can listen to others and successfully relay their ideas and opinions. - Anonymous

Good time management will allow our new hosts to accomplish more in a shorter period of time leading to more free time and lower work stress levels. - Anonymous

Read your confirmed job beforehand so that you know what is required of you during the job. Especially if you have to bring things to effectively complete the job that may not be available in the apartment. - Natasha Zamor, New York City, NY
