Texting / Calling Members

Use this article to know when to contact a Landing member, what to say, and how to reach them safely.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies working a job in an occupied home, or meeting a member.

When to contact a member

Contact the member before any job in an occupied home.

For a member check in, contact them at least one hour before they are due to arrive.

Always message through the Host App

Landing uses a masked number system, so your phone number and the member's phone number stay private. Contact the member through your Host App rather than from your own phone.

What to include in your message

Cover all four of these.

  • Give them a warm welcome. Be delightful.

  • Tell them your name.

  • Let them know you are with Landing.

  • Tell them which job you are doing.

For a check in, confirm the time and ask them to confirm it still works. For any other job, tell them roughly when you will arrive and ask whether that time suits them.

Example messages

Two example messages shown as speech bubbles. The first, for a member check in, confirms a 4 PM greeting time and asks the member to confirm it still works. The second, for another member facing job, confirms a delivery, says the Host is picking up items now and will arrive around 12:30 pm, and asks whether that time works.

Member check in

Hi Phoebe! It's Ross, your Landing Host. I'm reaching out to confirm our 4 PM greeting time at Avilla Eastlake. Let me know if you have any questions or need assistance before then. Looking forward to welcoming you to your new Landing! Please confirm that time still works for you.

Any other member facing job

Hi Monica! It's Joey, your Landing Host. I'm reaching out to confirm a delivery at Cortland at Chisholm Trail. I'm picking up the items at Target now and I will be there around 12:30 p.m. Does that time work for you?
