Your safety comes first
If finding a weapon makes you feel unsafe, leave the home.
You do not need permission and you will not be penalised for it.
Get somewhere you feel safe, then contact Landing. See Trust and Safety FAQ for more on your safety on a job.
Everything below assumes you feel safe enough to stay. If you do not, leaving is the right call.
If you find a weapon in an unoccupied home
Do not panic, and do not touch it.
Leave the weapon exactly where it is. Do not touch it, move it, cover it, or clean around it.
Stop the work you are doing.
Take a photo, only if you can do so safely. Do not approach the weapon to get a better shot. If you are not comfortable photographing it, do not, and say so when you report it.
Report it in the chat straight away, and contact the General Manager for that market. The General Manager is the Landing member of staff who runs day to day operations in your area.
Wait to hear back from Landing before you carry on or leave.
Landing will take it from there.
If you see a weapon in an occupied home
A weapon in an occupied home is the member's personal property.
Do not touch it, the same as you would not touch any of a member's belongings. Clean around it without moving it.
You can still report it in the chat with a photo if you can take one safely, so Landing has a record.
Landing will never ask you to handle a weapon
Landing will not ask you to touch, carry, move, or clean a weapon, in any home, in any circumstance.
If anyone asks you to, do not do it, and tell Landing.
