Making a Maintenance Request

Use this article to submit a maintenance request in the Landing Host App when something in a home needs fixing.

Who this is for: Hosts and Cleaning Companies working in a Landing home.

You have to take a photo in the app

The form will not let you submit a request without a photo of the issue.

The photo has to be taken there and then through the app. You cannot upload one from your camera roll, so a picture you took earlier will not work.

How to submit a maintenance request

  1. Tap Create request. You will see any requests already open for the home on this screen.

  2. Choose the issue area. This is the room or part of the home where the problem is.

  3. Choose the issue type. This is what kind of problem it is.

  4. Add details, take a photo, and submit. Describe the issue, take a photo of it through the app, then tap Create request.

Four Landing Host App screens showing how to submit a maintenance request. Screen one, the Requests page with a Create request button at the bottom. Screen two, the issue area dropdown open with Bathroom selected. Screen three, the issue type dropdown open with Electricity selected. Screen four, the completed form showing issue area Bathroom, issue type Electricity, a description reading "Light fixtures flickering", an Upload Photo button, and a Create request button.

Check the open requests first

The first screen lists the requests already open for that home. Read them before you create a new one.

If the issue you found is already reported, you do not need to raise it again. A duplicate request slows down the one that is already being worked on.

What to put in the description

"Light fixtures flickering" is enough for a simple issue. For anything more involved, say what you saw, when you noticed it, and whether it is getting worse.

Examples of issues that need a maintenance request

  • The air conditioning is not working

  • An appliance is not working properly

  • A property provided light is out

  • There are pests in the home

  • The floor of the home is damaged

  • Anything wrong with a smoke alarm

For WIFI issues

Wifi problems go through this same form, with the issue type set to Wifi Troubleshooting. Try the basic troubleshooting first. See Landing WiFi for what to try and what to include in the request.
