Add Items to the Catalog

Updated over a week ago

The efficiently Catalog contains over 5 million items, maintained by our dedicated catalog team. Your org can also create custom items, which appear only within your organization’s catalog.

This article explains how to navigate and search the Catalog effectively.

Understanding Division & Type

All catalog items are organized by Division and Type:

  • Division is the broad category (e.g., Appliances, Furnishings, Lighting, Plumbing).

  • Type is the specific item group within that Division (e.g., Dishwasher, Coffee Table, Chandelier, Bathtub).

  • Sub-Type adds another layer of refinement for certain items. For example, Round is a subtype for coffee table

Add Items to the Catalog

There are two ways to add items to the Catalog:

  1. Add items directly inside the platform

  2. Add items using the Clipp’d Chrome Plugin (recommended for fastest item clipping)

Add an Item from Within the Platform

  1. Go to the Catalog tab and select Add Item.

  2. Choose the Division and Type, then enter item details and images.

    • By default, items are added to the Org Catalog.

    • To save an item to a specific project list, select the project at the top under Save to Org or Project.

  3. Click Add Item.

  4. If the Manufacturer or Supplier doesn’t exist yet, select Create New when prompted.

  5. The new item will now appear in your catalog with an orange circle icon, indicating it was added by someone in your org. Items without this icon come from the efficiently catalog team.

Add an Item Using the Clipp’d Chrome Extension

  1. In the Catalog tab, click Add Item, then

    • If you haven’t already installed the Chrome extension, select Get it now to download it.

    • Mac users: Pin the extension using the puzzle icon in your browser toolbar.

  2. Navigate to any supplier or manufacturer website and click the Clipp’d extension icon.

The plugin will open on the right side of your screen.

  3. To capture product information from the manufacturer’s website, click the dotted square Capture icon, then click the field on the website you want to pull in. The details will populate automatically.

    • For example: click the Capture icon next to the Name field in the plugin, then click the product name on the website to import it.

  4. Click Add Item.

  5. The item will appear in your catalog with an orange circle icon, showing it was added by someone in your org.
