It's particularly useful to be able to annotate an image. You might be wanting to make notes on or highlight a certain part of an image. We offer a variety of tools to edit an image with. Find out more below:

Annotate an image

Select a patient's record, open the correct folder and select an image to edit by clicking the three dots on the submission then clicking 'Edit image'.

Alternatively, open the submission by clicking the image and then click on 'Edit image' in the top left corner.

Crop an image

Click on the crop icon on the left side of the image to adjust the size of the image.

Annotate an image

We've given you a variety of useful tools to annotate images with. Use the toolbar above the image to pick the right ones for you.

In the above image, the clinician has made use of the circle tool to identify where there is an issue with the addition of text to explain there is a lack of mobility in the selected area. The highlight tool is also used, again with the addition of the text tool, to show an area which has fully recovered.

Reverting the image to the original

If you'd like to undo any annotations or cropping you've made you can click the revert to original button to the left hand side of the image:

Mark an image as sensitive

You can mark an image sensitive at any time by selecting the 'Mark Image As Sensitive' button in the top right. Alternatively, you can remove the sensitive blur feature in the same way.

Add or update notes

{is this functionality still possible?} To add notes or update the existing notes on an image, click on 'Notes' in the top middle of the screen. We've highlighted it for you to see in the below image.

This will then allow you to edit the notes for the image underneath the chosen image.

Visibility of annotated images

If an image has been annotated or cropped you will be able to see this clearly on the patient records page with the copy 'Image edited' on the submission:

If you open the submission (by clicking on an image) you will also see if the image has been edited at the bottom left hand side. You also have the option to view the original image too.
