Measurement tool

Isla's innovative measurement tool allows users to estimate the size of a wound or feature according to a reference object (whose size is known) included in the image. The user is guided through a three-step annotation process which produces the size of the image selected.

Please note that this tool is a prototype and not an approved medical device. It should not be used to inform clinical decisions. Camera position and angle can distort the apparent size and shape of an object. The camera should be held parallel to the skin, and the sterile ruler should be in the same plane as the wound (i.e. parallel to the wound and at the same distance from the camera). The ruler should be placed as close to the wound as possible.
