With opportunistic compliance you can start logging your transactions in Notabene’s dashboard even if you are missing some of the necessary information such as the beneficiary’s information or the beneficiary VASP.

If you are unable to complete all the necessary information for your Travel Rule transfer, you can still submit an incomplete transfer by checking the “Opportunistic Compliance” tickbox and leaving the fields empty. We will add your counterparty VASP if we manage to identify it based on the beneficiary's blockchain address or your past transfers. Once you have all the necessary information, you can simply update your transfer request and send it over to complete the transfer process.

One of the main use cases for this feature is when a VASP is in the early stages of integration and is not yet collecting the necessary Beneficiary data from the end customer. Although transfers cannot be sent but only created, by using this feature, VASPs can begin creating Travel Rule transfers to test their integration and ensure that everything is working smoothly before fully implementing the Travel Rule in their operations.

Reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns and we will be happy to clarify them for you.
