Internal transfers, also known as intra-VASP transfers, are referring to the movement of assets from one account to another within the same virtual asset service provider (VASP). These transactions occur on a regular basis, particularly in large VASPs where multiple accounts are held by different entities. While the originator account and beneficiary account may belong to different entities, the transaction is not subject to Travel Rule requirements, which mandate that certain information be shared between VASPs when a transaction is made. This exemption is due to the fact that the transaction is occurring within the same VASP, and as such, the VASP is already aware of the parties involved in the transaction.

When adding the details of a transaction in which the Beneficiary VASP is the same as the Originator VASP, the dashboard will display it with opposite arrows and will be automatically approved without the need for further review.
