You can view and verify counterparty VASP’s regulatory information before sending or accepting a Travel Rule data transfer. Performing counterparty due diligence has the aim to prevent transactions with sanctioned or high-risk VASPs and to avoid sharing Travel Rule information with VASPs that lack adequate data protection controls.
By sharing sensitive information with a VASP that is not trustworthy or reliable, you may be putting your customer at risk. Doing your diligence on your Counterparty VASP before sharing sensitive information is important to ensure the security of your funds and personal information, compliance with regulations, and the reliability and trustworthiness of the VASP.
To access your counterparty VASP’s regulatory information, follow these steps:
Visit the "VASP Network" tab in your account, or simply click here to access the Notabene VASP Network directly.
Search for your counterparty VASP and click on their profile.
Within their VASP profile, navigate to the "License and Registration Information" section. Here, you will find either self-reported information or data provided by VASPnet.
