2FA Activation

Updated over a week ago

2FA is a two-factor authentication method, meaning you need to authenticate twice to access your account. This is a security measure that seeks to protect your information and your investments.

By activating 2FA to access your Vest account, you are increasing the security of your money, as it is not a fixed code like your password—it changes every so often depending on the authentication application you use.

Steps to Activate 2FA

  1. Download an authentication app on your cell phone.

  2. Open the settings in the Vest app.

    1. Open your Vest app.

    2. Tap your profile photo or your initials in the upper corner.

    3. Go to the Security section.

    4. Find and enable the Two-Factor Authentication option.

  3. Link the applications

    1. The Vest app will show you a QR code and a security key.

    2. Open your authentication application and create a new entry.

    3. Scan the QR code or paste the key you copied from Vest. A 6-digit code for Vest will automatically be generated.

  4. Confirm the connection

    1. Copy the 6-digit code that the authentication application is generating.

    2. Paste it in the space that Vest asks for to finish the configuration.

Key Facts to Remember

The Code Always Changes: Every time you log in to Vest, the system will ask for your password and this 6-digit code. This code is updated only in the authentication app every few seconds.

A Single Process: 2FA is only activated if you log in with your email and password. (If you use other methods, it is not necessary).

Recommendation: Do not close the Vest app while you are doing the linking! If you do, the QR code or the key may change, and you will have to start over. Keep both apps open until the process is complete.
