2FA is a two-factor authentication method, meaning that you need to authenticate twice to access your account; this security measure seeks to back up your information and your investments.
By activating 2FA to access your Vest account, you are increasing the security of your money; since it is not a fixed code like your password, it varies from time to time, depending on the authentication application you use.
How can you activate 2FA in Vest?
Download an authentication application on your cell phone.
Open the Vest app from your cell phone.
Click on your profile picture or where you see your initials.
Go to the section - Security.
Enable the -Two-factor authentication option.
Copy the security key or QR code that appears in your Vest app.
Open again the authentication app that you downloaded and create a new login.
a. Scan the QR code or paste the code you copied from the Vest app. You will now see a random number generated for your Vest app.
It is important that you keep both applications open (authentication app and Vest app) because if you close the Vest app a new code will be created that will no longer match the one you had already created in your authentication app.
b. To complete the connection, copy the random number generated by the authentication app and paste the number into the Vest app to complete the 2FA configuration.
Remember that whenever you log in to the Vest app, it will ask for this additional code that is automatically and randomly generated by the authentication app.
Note: The 2FA process is only required for users who log in to their account with email and password.
