Short answer: The charge appears because your book uses a Premium template or font.
What’s happening
Some templates and fonts are included with a Free account, while others require a Premium Membership.
Templates and fonts marked with a Free icon can be used without upgrading.
Templates or fonts marked with a star require a Premium Membership.
If your book includes any Premium elements, the system will automatically add the $29.95 Premium Membership to your order.
When the charge is added
If you purchase a Premium Membership before finishing your book, it will already be active when you check out.
If you don’t purchase it ahead of time, the $29.95 fee is added automatically at checkout.
Both options result in the same total cost.

Choose a template marked with the Free icon
Select the Traditional font (also marked as Free)
