Step 1: Make sure EMIS is set up to connect to the Hero toolbar

  • Click on the EMIS menu in the top left corner of the screen, select System tools and open EMAS manager. Ensure you have practice manager permissions on EMIS in order to do this.

  • In the list on the left hand side of the screen, find Partner API, scroll down the list to find and select Hero. Check that there is a green tick next to Hero, otherwise click Activate Application.

Step 2: Ensure that all users who need to use the Hero Toolbar have login access.

  • On EMAS manager, make sure you have Hero selected on the Partner API list.

  • Click Login access to view the list of all EMIS users.

  • Tick Auto login and Allow login next to all users who will use the toolbar.

  • These users are now set up to log use the hero toolbar and to have it log in automatically.

Step 3: Ensure all staff members who need to use the Hero toolbar have a Hero admin account

Step 4: Download the Hero toolbar using this guide and invite all staff members who need to use the Hero toolbar to download it.
