Earning Your Level 2 and 3 Heroic Coach Certifications
As we explore new accreditation pathways to elevate our Coach program, here's a comprehensive look at what it takes to earn your Level 2 and 3 Certifications:
Theory
To achieve Level 2 and 3 Certification, you must complete the respective modules. These modules introduce practices not required during the first year of the program, as well as the Level 2 Heroic Wisdom. While the Mastery Series Video is labeled as "Bonus" wisdom, we always recommend revisiting a few key ideas each time you work through the Coach Modules. This reinforces your understanding and application of the material.
Practice
To earn (and maintain!) your Level 2 and 3 Heroic Coach Certification, you need to practice the following fundamentals DAILY (7 days a week), with a couple of exceptions:
Absolute Floor Day: You may designate one “absolute floor” day each week, allowing for minimal effort (e.g., five minutes of movement or one minute of meditation).
Paid Back Days: If you miss a practice, you can make it up the following day, up to twice a week. For example, if you forgot your gratitude practice yesterday, you can do two today.
The aim of the Level 2 and 3 Practice Standards is to demonstrate increased consistency along with occasional boosts in intensity. Here are the Level 2 Fundamental Practices, with differences from Level 1 highlighted in bold:
Eat: Follow a nutritional protocol that supports maintaining (or actively moving towards) a Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) of ≤ 0.5.
Move: Engage in 30 minutes of consistent movement AND achieve an average of 10,000 steps per day.
Sleep: Turn off all electronics at least one hour before bedtime.
Breathe: Practice optimized breathing for three minutes each day.
Focus: Meditate for 11 minutes daily AND accumulate 25 minutes of meditation at least three days per week. This can be structured as a single 25-minute session or a combination (e.g., 20 minutes + 5 minutes, or 15 + 10 minutes). Tip: Consider adding a pre-bedtime wind-down meditation for an easy way to reach the 25 minutes.
Be Grateful: Complete a daily gratitude practice.
Prosper: Fill out the Carpe Diem Journal daily AND implement the 1,2,3 Optimize process at least three days per week. The minimum requirement is to provide at least a one-word response to each question in the process (e.g., What went well/am I proud of? What needs work/did I learn? How will I Optimize going forward?).

Mastery
To demonstrate mastery in the following areas:
Energy: Showcase your energy by completing another Spartan race or an alternative demonstration approved by the team.
Work: Distill and share the Top 10 insights from your Heroic Philosophy. You can find details in Big Idea #8 of Module VII and the Reflection Practice: My Heroic Handbook. If you’ve created a handbook before, we encourage you to develop a new iteration to reflect your growth.
Love: Cultivate deep connections by being an exceptional Heroic Buddy once again.
