Overview

Starting 1 March 2025, we are introducing one decimal place for Max Miles calculations. Instead of rounding up to the nearest whole number, Max Miles will now be rounded up to the next decimal place whenever a non-integer amount is earned.

Details and Examples

Instead of rounding up to the nearest whole number, Max Miles will now be rounded up to one decimal place. Your Max Miles balance will also be displayed with one decimal place for greater accuracy.

FAQs

1. Why is HeyMax making this change?

Since the launch of Max Miles, we have always rounded up earned Max Miles to the nearest whole number—unlike most reward programs that round down. While this approach benefited our members, it also introduced potential loopholes through microtransactions.

With the introduction of new ways to earn Max Miles, such as the Chocolate VISA Debit Card and small denomination gift cards like the S$5 FairPrice in-store gift card, transactions below S$1 or earning nearing 1 miles have become more common. This creates a risk of disproportionate mileage accumulation—for example, a S$0.01 transaction at 0.4 Max Miles per SGD (MMPD) would round up to 1 Max Mile, effectively granting 100 MMPD. This adjustment introduces decimal-based miles for smaller transactions, ensuring fairness and sustaining the program for all members.

2. Will my existing Max Miles balance be affected?

No, your current balance and past earnings will remain unchanged. This update only applies to new Max Miles earned from 1 March 2025 onwards.

3. Does this change affect Max Miles redemptions?

No, you can redeem Max Miles as usual once you accumulate the required amount.

4. How will this affect my Max Miles balance?

Your account will now track Max Miles to one decimal place. For example, if you earn 2.5 Max Miles today and 3.7 tomorrow, your total balance will be 6.2 Max Miles.

This update ensures fairer mileage allocation while maintaining the integrity and sustainability of the program. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team.
