Targeting Agent and ICPs in Heyou

How Heyou determines which companies and which people match your target market, and how your team can adjust the fit scores when needed.

Overview

Define your Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) with Heyou's Targeting Agent - which accounts and people you want to reach? Based on your feedback, Heyou's targeting agent researches, analyzes, and scores every company and every person against your Targeting Criteria, using AI to evaluate the available context against what your team has defined as its target market. Those scores flow into every move you receive. When Heyou gets a score wrong for a specific company or person, your admins can adjust it, and the adjustment takes effect everywhere Heyou uses that score, immediately.

Scope

This article covers:

What shapes your Ideal Customer Profile scores

Your ICP is the shape of the accounts and buyers you want to work with — the industries, roles, company sizes, geographies, and other traits that make an account or a person a good fit for what you sell. Heyou uses your ICP definition, set up with your Heyou point of contact during onboarding, as the reference every time it scores a company or a person. If your definition changes over time — a new segment, a new geography, a new persona focus — your team can update it with Heyou and future scoring will reflect the change.

How the Targeting Agent scores companies and people

The Targeting Agent scores in two layers:

  • Company fit: Does this company match your target market? Scored 0 to 100.

  • Persona fit: At a company that matches, is this specific person the right buyer or influencer to reach? Scored 0 to 100.

Both scores come from AI evaluation of the available business context, company profile, role, industry, geography, against your ICP definition. A company or person needs to clear a minimum fit threshold before it can appear in your moves, so low-fit accounts are filtered out before they reach you.

How Heyou uses AI responsibly, including where AI evaluates and where humans decide, is covered in the public Responsible AI Policy.

Correcting a score when Heyou got it wrong

AI evaluation is not always right. A company that looks perfect on paper may be a bad customer for you, and a company that looks marginal may be one of your best. When a score does not match your team's judgment, admins can adjust it directly: set a new fit score between 0 and 100, add a short reasoning for the change, and Heyou records who made the correction and when.

The adjustment then takes effect everywhere Heyou uses the score: every ranking, every move, every calculation that touches the account. There is no waiting for the AI to relearn, and there is no separate model to retrain.

How ICP scores show up in your moves

ICP fit is one of the two things Heyou weighs on every move.
The other is warmth - how strong your team's path to the target actually is, drawn from real relationship history. A high-fit account with a warm path becomes a top-of-list move; a low-fit account is filtered out even when the warmth is there; a high-fit account with no direct warm path can still surface through an investor or customer intro path.

How moves are put together end-to-end is covered in Moves in Heyou.

Recent enhancements

The most recent additions to this module. New entries are added by Heyou's release process.

  • July 2026 — Your admins can now correct a company's or a person's fit score directly, with a short reasoning attached. Every correction takes effect immediately, everywhere Heyou uses the score, without waiting for the AI to be retrained. Company scoring itself also moved to a faster AI model, so new companies are scored in less time and at lower cost.

If you have a question about your ICP definition or how a specific score was assigned, reply to any Heyou email or open the in-product chat — our team responds to every message.
