Overview
Heyou prepares outreach actions for you to review and send - a social message, a social comment, a WhatsApp message handoff. Nothing is ever sent on your behalf without your explicit action. Once you send, Heyou tracks whether the platform confirmed delivery and whether the recipient replied, so the next Move about that person reflects what actually happened.
Scope
This article covers:
Actions Heyou can prepare for you
Heyou can prepare several kinds of outreach as part of a Move:
Direct message - a drafted note ready to send.
Social comment - a drafted comment on a specific post the target has published or engaged with.
Attention moments - a targeted engagement that keeps you visible to a specific person without a full message.
WhatsApp handoff - a pre-filled WhatsApp draft for a connection whose phone number is available in your data.
Every action targets a specific person as part of a specific Move, with the reasoning for why this action, to this person, at this time, visible alongside the draft.
Human-in-the-loop by design
This is Heyou's design principle: AI suggests; you review and decide. It applies most directly here. Heyou never automatically sends messages, connection requests, comments, likes, follows, posts, or profile changes on your behalf. Every action is drafted, shown to you, and only leaves when you send it. You can edit the draft. You can skip the action. You can snooze it. Nothing happens externally until you act.
This is not a policy setting that could be flipped in a future release — it is how Heyou is built. The public Trust Overview and Responsible AI Policy both cover this in more depth for security and compliance reviewers.
How actions execute in your browser
When you send a LinkedIn or WhatsApp action from Heyou, the action itself is carried out by the Heyou browser extension, in your own signed-in session. Heyou's servers do not send messages or take actions on your behalf. What LinkedIn (or WhatsApp) sees is your normal session sending a message — as if you had typed and clicked yourself, at your own pace.
If your session ends or you uninstall the extension, no further actions can be sent. There is no separate path.
What happens after you send
Once you send an action, Heyou tracks two things about it: whether the platform confirmed the message was delivered, and whether the recipient replied. This is not eavesdropping — Heyou reads the same delivery and reply signals you would see yourself, using the same access it has to your relationship history. The next Move about that person reflects what happened: a reply prompts a suggested follow-up; silence prompts a different angle or a different path in.
Recent enhancements
The most recent additions to this module. New entries are added by Heyou's release process.
July 2026 — Heyou now tracks whether a message you sent from a Move was delivered and whether the recipient replied. The next Move about that person reflects the outcome — a reply prompts a suggested follow-up; silence prompts a different angle. LinkedIn and WhatsApp actions also recover more cleanly when LinkedIn or WhatsApp Web is slow to respond, so a stalled page no longer holds up the action.
If you have a question about how a specific action was drafted or what happens after you send it, reply to any Heyou email or open the in-product chat — our team responds to every message.
