Getting started

Scheduling determines when a lesson will appear for the learners assigned to the group that the given lesson is assigned and scheduled in. To start us off, head over the the groups tab. (https://app.hickorytraining.com/app/v2/groups/)

From here, select the group you would like to schedule a lesson in by clicking on the group name.

Next, head to the lessons tab and select the "add lessons" button and select the lessons you would like to add to the group.

Scheduling

After adding a lesson to a group, you will notice the "Schedule" button appear where this new lesson is.

Basic Scheduling

Basic scheduling will apply to both video and article lessons, since continuous learning does not apply to these lesson types, the option here are more basic, allowing you to select the date and time you would like the lesson to appear for the learners. Basic scheduling will allow admins to use the drip scheduling feature, which we will go over later in this guide, and schedule lesson reviews for the entire lesson based on a given time frame inputted while scheduling the lesson. Enabling this option, reviews default to 12 months after completion, but can be edited to whatever works best for your use case.

Card based lesson scheduling

Card based lessons allow for a wider degree of scheduling options with the inclusion of continuous learning as a feature to card based lessons.

Scheduling a card based lesson, we will see that we have the same options for assigning the lesson at a specific date and time, but you will also notice the addition of the "Continuous learning" and "Allow retakes" options.

Continuous Learning

Continuous learning allows reviews to be scheduled automatically based on the learning algorithm that takes the learners answers and self assessment at the end of each question and determines the best timeframe to review each card. This option is enabled by default, but if you would like to instead have the learners review the entire lesson at once based on a time scale you prefer, this option can be disabled and will allow you to enter how often you would like the lesson to be reviewed.

Allowing Retakes

Enabling the "Allow retakes" option will allow you to require a specific score be achieved on a given lesson before the learner will complete the lesson. For example, if you decided that the learner should achieve a minimum score of 80% on the lesson before the move on and have the lesson marked complete, you would select the "Allow retakes" option, and enter and "80%" in the required score field.

Drip Scheduling

Drip scheduling will allow you to delay when a lesson is assigned based on when the learner was added to the group. This can be useful in preventing too many lessons from being assigned to a learner immediately after they are assigned to a group. The default option when enabling this feature, will assign the lesson to the learner 3 days after they have been assigned to the group.
