Hubspot found structuring your email to have 20% text, video then 80% text got the highest open rate.
Alongside this, having the word video in the subject line will push open rate (the same as putting Video in your Hintro title) – on average you should be looking at 60% more opens with this simple addition
Lastly advertising upfront will push engagement. Whatever your hook is, mention it in the email subject line and body of the text; telling them what’s to be found on the link.
As mentioned above, make sure to introduce your video properly. This is doubly important if you’re sending them via inMail, as only the link will appear. I’d recommend putting something along the lines of the following:
Hey Sophie,
Hope you’re well?
Really keen to introduce you to a Business Development opportunity I’m exclusively representing in the FinTech space!
Below I’ve recorded a quick video introduction to the role, alongside this is a downloadable job description.

Let me know when you’re available to discuss further,
Harriet
Attaching it via a document can work nicely if you want to send the same thing to multiple people. Simply paste the “Link & Thumbnail” to the top of your chosen document (this could be marketing material, business card, FAQ’s etc), save this as a PDF and you can attach to inMails.
Popping them in your connection request. When someone accepts, it’ll pop up as a video, but it’s also another point of contact where you can say “cheers for connection, did you get a chance to view my video above?”.
