HiPeople supports Single Sign-On (SSO) to provide a seamless and secure login experience. This guide will walk you through the process of accessing HiPeople using SSO with systems like Okta/Google/Microsoft 365.
SSO is only available for customers on Enterprise plans - so reach out to your CSM if you're on a lower plan and would like to upgrade.
Single-Sign-On (SSO) with Okta
HiPeople allows users to authenticate using Single Sign-On (SSO) to streamline the login process and enhance security. This guide covers the steps to configure and use SSO with Okta, a popular identity and access management provider.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
An active HiPeople account.
Administrative access to your organization’s Okta account.
Initial steps in Okta:
Log in to Okta Admin Console:
Go to your Okta dashboard and log in with your administrator credentials.
Add a New Application:
Update application details
After the Metadata URL has been given to your HiPeople CSM, they will have a new Single sign-on URL for you
Back at the admin interface, edit the application settings again
Visit the General tab, scroll to SAML Settings and click Edit
Change the Single sign-on URL to the new URL
Click Next
Click Finish
Assigning Users in Okta to HiPeople:
Assign Users:
In the Okta Admin Console, go to the HiPeople application you just created.
Click on Assignments.
Select Assign and choose the users or groups who need access to HiPeople.
Logging into HiPeople using SSO
Once SSO is configured in Okta, users can log into HiPeople using their Okta credentials.
Navigate to HiPeople Login:
Go to the HiPeople login page: app.hipeople.io
Enter your work email:
Make sure to enter your email address that is associated with your Okta account and click "Continue"
Authenticate via Okta:
You will be redirected to the Okta login page.
Enter your Okta credentials and complete any additional authentication steps (such as MFA).
Access HiPeople:
Upon successful authentication, you will be redirected back to HiPeople and logged in.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with SSO, consider the following steps:
Verify SAML Configuration:
Ensure the SAML settings in Okta match the required HiPeople configuration.
Check User Assignments:
Confirm that users are correctly assigned to the HiPeople application in Okta.
Review Okta Logs:
Check the Okta system logs for any error messages related to SSO.
Clear Browser Cache:
Sometimes, clearing the browser cache can resolve unexpected login issues.

Single-Sign-On (SSO) with Microsoft Entra ID
HiPeople supports Single Sign-On (SSO) to provide a seamless and secure login experience using Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).
Availability
SSO is exclusively available for customers on Enterprise plans. Please contact your Customer Success Manager (CSM) if you need to upgrade your plan to enable this feature.
Prerequisites
Before configuring SSO with Microsoft Entra ID, ensure:
You have admin access to your Microsoft Entra ID tenant
Your organization has an Enterprise subscription with HiPeople
You are an admin of your HiPeople organization
Initial Steps in Microsoft Entra ID
Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center
Navigate to “Manage” -> “Enterprise Applications”
Click "New Application"
Then “Create your own application”
Name it “HiPeople” and select the Non-gallery radio button
Create the application
Configuring the application
After the application has been created, it needs to be setup for SSO
Click “Set up single sign on”
Choose SAML as the method
Copy the “Medadata URL” and give this to your HiPeople CSM
Your HiPeople CSM will give you back and new URL to be used as shown:
Assigning Users in Microsoft Entra ID:
Navigate to the HiPeople application in Enterprise Applications
Select "Users and groups"
Click "Add user/group"
Assign the appropriate users or groups who need access to HiPeople
Logging into HiPeople using SSO
Once SSO is configured, users can log into HiPeople using their Microsoft credentials.

Verify user assignments in Microsoft Entra ID
Check if the user has the correct licenses
