🔹 How to Protect Yourself from Job Scams?

At Hire Veterans, we’re committed to connecting you with real, reputable employers – but we also want to empower you with the knowledge to protect yourself.

Here are key signs of a potential job scam:

  • You’re asked to pay upfront fees for job placement, training, or equipment.

  • The employer uses vague job descriptions or avoids answering your questions directly.

  • You’re offered a job without an interview – or with little to no information about the company.

  • Communications come from free or suspicious email domains (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo) instead of a credible company domain.

  • You’re asked for personal or financial information early in the process.

  • They claim to be affiliated with Hire Veterans or say they found your profile on HireVeterans.com, but they don’t have a verified company profile listed on our job board.

Trust your instincts. If something feels off, pause and verify.

🔹 How to Stay Safe?

  • Research the employer’s official website and verify their presence on Hire Veterans or other job boards like LinkedIn.

  • Never share sensitive information (like your Social Security number or bank details) unless you’ve confirmed the legitimacy of the job and employer.

  • Report suspicious listings to support@hireveterans.com immediately.

Remember: A legitimate employer will never ask you to pay to get hired.

Your safety, trust, and success matter to us. Always proceed with confidence and caution.
