Add other ways to get paid on your registry

Want to accept contributions outside of credit card payments? Hitchd offers a range of manual payment methods, giving you full flexibility.

What are manual payments?

Manual payments happen outside of Hitchd. We collect the information you provide (like your Venmo handle, PayPal email or CashApp Cashtag), and we pass it on to your guests so they can send their gift directly to you using the method you choose.

These payments aren't processed through Hitchd, but they're still tracked—so you'll always know who's contributed.

How to add a manual payment method

  1. Go to your Registry

  2. Scroll down to Payments outside your registry

  3. Choose a method (like Wise, PayPal, or Bank Transfer)

  4. Add your instructions (e.g. your handle, email, or account info).

Once added, this method will show up as a payment option for guests during checkout. You can add as many payment methods as you like.

What guests see

When a guest selects a gift to contribute towards:

  • They choose their gift amount

  • They enter their name, email address, and a personal wish for you

  • They select a payment method from the list you've added

  • We provide them with the information you've entered (e.g. your PayPal email or Venmo username)

  • They're asked to make the transfer using their own app or service

  • After sending, they return to Hitchd and click 'I've paid'.

At that point, we mark the contribution as complete and update your Contributions list—just like any other gift.

  • Wise

  • Venmo

  • Cash App

  • Zelle

  • Revolut

  • PayPal

  • Bitcoin

  • Email/Phone Transfer

  • Bank Transfer

  • Cash

  • Cheque

  • Custom Payment (for anything else).

Heads up

Because these payments happen outside Hitchd, we can't verify if the transfer actually went through. It's up to the guest to follow through and up to you to confirm receipt. If it's been more than 48 hours and you still haven't received the funds, please let us know and we can tactfully contact your guest to help them finalize their contribution.
