Hololink comes with built-in collaboration and Teams features, that make it easy to use in a classroom setting where each student can create their own hololinks and share them with the rest of the class. No installations are needed prior to working with hololink, students just need access to a laptop where they create the hololinks and a smartphone for viewing the hololinks.

What are Teams and where do I access them?

In the Hololink project list, you'll see an overview of your Teams. When you sign up you'll only see your private Team with Hololinks that are only visible to you, but you can quickly and easily create more Teams and invite students to join a Team as described below.

Getting started with a new class

To get a new class up and running just follow the steps below:

1. Ask students to register for Hololink

Ask the students to open the Chrome browser on their laptops and go to https://editor.hololink.io
Now they can register by clicking the sign up link or if they're logged into google on their computer they can use the Sign in with Google button.

If they choose to use the sign up link, they'll have to fill in their email, a username and a password. And don't worry, Hololink is fully GDPR compliant and uses the latest encryption standard to keep our users' data safe.

2. Create a Team

In the project list, click on + Create New Team at the bottom of the left hand panel. Now type the name you want for your new Team and click Create.

3. Invite students to the new Team

Now click the name of your new Team in the left hand panel and then click the icon with 3 human silhouettes and a gear that you see right next to the name.

In the bottom of the pop-up that opens, you can invite people to the Team. You can add any number of emails separated by commas to the Team. Just enter the email(s) in the field and click the Send Invitations button.

Moving hololinks between Teams?

If you want to create hololinks in a private Team before sharing them with your students, you can simply move them to the relevant Team by clicking the hamburger menu on the hololink in the project list and then choosing Move. Now you can choose any one of your Teams from the drop down list to move the hololink into that Team.

Using the move feature, you can let students create hololinks in private Teams and share them with the class once they're ready. You can also create a template that the students should duplicate from the shared Team or even ask the students to create smaller Teams of their own to work on hololinks in smaller groups of 2-3 students.

That's it!
Now you're ready to use Hololink in the classroom.
