How can you use chroma keying in an augmented reality experience?
It's actually very easy. Just follow these steps:
Upload a video with a green or other coloured background to your Hololink scene.
Once the video is in your scene, click on the Chroma key toggle in the right hand panel.
The Hololink editor will automatically choose the most appropriate colour to remove from your video, but you can still choose another colour by clicking on the dropdown menu and choosing manual colour.
You can also experiment with the Chroma Tolerance and the Smoothing sliders if you want to create less or more transparency and control the edge bleed of the video.
See the GIF below for guidance as to where the chroma key controls can be found:
An important note: Green screen videos with very small or semi-transparent elements, like smoke, fireworks or similar content can't be used with chroma key, as the chroma key feature will see the colours below the transparency and therefore also remove the transparent parts of the image.
