What best practices should you follow to avoid fraud attempts?

Updated over 2 months ago

If you want to invest in financial products, be aware that, as in many other areas, fraud exists. To avoid it, you need to know how to recognize it.

How to detect scams?

  • Check the domain name you are connecting to: homaio.com or app.homaio.com. Sometimes malicious individuals may contact you by phone or email and ask you to log in through a different link. This is a way to direct you to a fraudulent website pretending to be Homaio, in order to steal your login credentials and access your account to upload a fraudulent bank account (RIB).

  • Check the email address contacting you: firstname@homaio.com, team@homaio.com, etc. If the email does not end with “@homaio.com”, it is not an email from our company. Do not interact with it.

  • If we ask you to modify personal information (bank details, date of birth, address…), always update this information directly from your personal dashboard, in the “Settings” section. Never send sensitive information by email.

What should you do if you think you’re a victim of fraud?

  • Keep all evidence: phone numbers, screenshots, proof of transfers;

  • Inform us.

Some online security tips

  • Choose a unique, long, and complex password. On Homaio, your password must contain at least 8 characters including at least 1 lowercase letter, 1 uppercase letter, 1 number, and 1 special character.

  • If you go through an intermediary, verify their Orias registration number on the official website.
