Showhomes.io and homeAR support the following input formats
.HOME
.GLTF/GLB (including associated .BIN and image files if applicable)
.FBX (including associated image files if applicable)
.DAE (including associated image files if applicable)
.3DS (including associated image files if applicable)
File Requirements:
For optimal performance, we recommend files fall under the below thresholds:
1. Triangle Count: <1,000,000
2. File Size: 300MB
Exporting Instructions
These instructions define the optimal approach for exporting from the following design packages:
ArchiCAD®
ArchiCAD® 27
In ArchiCAD, open the 3D view you want to export.
For optimal performance in homeAR we recommend that non-essential terrain, foliage, exterior landscaping etc are hidden prior to export.
Press ’File’ -> ‘Save-As’
Select file type ’FBX Files (*.fbx)’
Match the following options:
Upload the .FBX file directly to homeAR or send to your homeAR contact

ArchiCAD® 25-26
In ArchiCAD, open the 3D view you want to export.
For optimal performance in homeAR we recommend that non-essential terrain, foliage, exterior landscaping etc are hidden prior to export.
Press ’File’ -> ‘Save-As’
Select file type ‘Collada file (*.dae)
The output folder will container a .dae files and an ‘images’ folder. Select both and compress to a .zip file.
Upload the .ZIP file directly to homeAR or send to your homeAR contact

ArchiCAD® 22-24
In ArchiCAD, open the 3D view you want to export.
For optimal performance in homeAR we recommend that non-essential terrain, foliage, exterior landscaping etc are hidden prior to export.
Press ’File’ -> ‘Save-As’
Select file type ‘Twinmotion’ (*.fbx)
Match the following options
Upload the .FBX file directly to homeAR or send to your homeAR contact

Revit®
Exporting from Revit 2021-2024 (via the homeAR Connect plugin)
homeAR Connect is a free plugin available in the Autodesk store. This allows simple exporting from Revit to a homeAR-optimized format.
Please note: For optimal performance in homeAR we recommend that non-essential terrain, foliage, exterior landscaping etc are hidden prior to export.
Download and install homeAR Connect for Revit here
Click the Add-ins tab in the Revit ribbon
Click the Save button
Save the file to your preferred location
Upload the .HOME file directly to homeAR or send to your homeAR contact

Exporting from Revit 2017-2020 (via Revit eTransmit)
Notes: For optimal performance in homeAR we recommend that non-essential terrain, foliage, exterior landscaping etc are hidden prior to export.
Ensure no project is open and select Add-Ins -> Transmit model(s)
In the eTransmit window, select the model you want to export and an empty folder to export to. Make sure ‘Include transmittal and error reports’ is checked.
Set an export destination in the ‘Save model to’ field
Then Click ‘Transmit model(s)’.
In the folder selected for export, select everything, including the TransmittalReport and right-click and compress to a .zip file.

Chief Architect®
Exporting to DAE from Chief Architect
To export a 3D model a camera view or overview must be active.
Make sure that everything that you want to export is set to display in the current view, and everything you do not want to export is not set to display. For optimal performance in homeAR we recommend that non-essential terrain, foliage, exterior landscaping etc are hidden prior to export.
When the model is ready, select File> Export> 3D COLLADA Model
Press ‘Export’ and select a destination.
Zip the .DAE files together with the textures folder into one .ZIP file.
Upload the .ZIP file directly to homeAR or send to your homeAR contact

Sketchup®
Exporting to 3DS from Sketchup®
Make sure that everything that you want to export is set to display in the current view, and everything you do not want to export is not set to display.

When the model is ready, select File> Export> 3DS
Select the export options as follows:
Press ‘Export’ and select a destination.
Zip the .3DS files together with the textures folder into one .ZIP file.
Upload the .ZIP file directly to homeAR or send to your homeAR contact
