About This Guide

homeAR is an experiential sales and marketing platform designed for one purpose, to help builders and developers get customers into great new homes. To put it more succinctly, homeAR exists to SELL NEW HOMES.

It does do so by giving buyers an experience that is exciting, engaging, timely and most importantly, inspires confidence. How you bring that to life in your business is up to you.

This guide is intended to provide ideas and even a little inspiration. To bring you some of the learning we've developed over 3 years of pioneering augmented reality in the sales & marketing of new homes. It is not a set template, and how you implement homeAR in your business is of course, entirely up to you. homeAR is here to enhance the customer journey that you wish to offer. To align to your brand and augment your brand experience.

The main section of this guide is organized into two parts, to demonstrate ways in which homeAR can be applied to attract more buyers (lead gen), and turn leads in to customers (conversion).

This is Section 1: Attracting More Buyers. For ideas on how to use homeAR to help close more sales please look out for Section 2: Turning leads into customers (coming soon!)

We hope you find this guide useful!

Implementing homeAR To Attract More Buyers (Lead Generation)

Creating A Unique Web Experience

Your Website is where many buyer journeys begin and where first impressions are often created. Our goal is to deliver an impression that not only jumps off the page and makes your brand stand out, but one that shows right up-front that the experience buying a new home from you is different and most importantly, better. Here are some ways that homeAR can help you achieve that.

Inform buyers that "We're homeAR-enabled"

Let potential buyers know from the moment they hit your website that powerful augmented reality visualisation is one of the tools you offer, to give them confidence and help them find the home that is right for them. This could be as simple as a small section on your homepage to highlight the availability of homeAR or you can use one of our videos to help you showcase this unique part of your experience. Here are some ideas:

"homeAR Enabled" badges: We have a range of web button and badge options such as the example below. These can be customized to suit.

Enticing Copy: Visual cues like buttons can be even more powerful when accompanied by an explanation of the benefits on offer for your buyers. Here's an example:

We offer a range of tools to help you decide on the home that is right for you, including the latest in augmented reality visualization...

  1. Standard Plans: Experience any of our plans, on any lot - yours or ours - in life-size augmented reality with just your mobile phone. Look out for this icon throughout our site to access AR viewing

  2. Custom Designs: Our AR capabilities mean you will be able to see and experience your very own design come to life, on your lot, to help you make sure you end up with the home that's perfect for you.

Video: Videos such as the one below are available for you to add to your site. We can even provide a version with your brand on the end-plate.

Webview

homeAR's Webview extension has been created to provide an easy way to add simple interactive 3D views of your plans to your website, to complement the floorplans and renders and to make it instantly stand out. Every home plan in homeAR is available via Webview and each can easily be embedded into any web page to provide buyers with a simple, powerful 3D view of the plan (no scanning of model homes is required)

Try one for yourself by clicking the image below:

Webview also provides an easy gateway for buyers to extend their browsing into the augmented reality views of the plans. Click the AR button to access a QR code when on desktop or go directly to the homeAR app if on mobile.

HOW TO: Get your Webview embed codes in the homeAR Portal:

TIP: On pages where Webview has been embedded, we recommend making it clear what is on offer for viewers. Here's some suggested copy:

Use our 3D Webview to see this plan in interactive 3D.

  • Use the slider to remove the roof and look inside

  • The mirror button lets you see the inversed version of the plan

  • Hit the AR button to download the homeAR app and see this plan in life-sized augmented reality

Magic Links / "View in AR" Button

If you prefer not to implement Webview but want to provide your visitors with a quick way to access the augmented reality experiences directly from your website, homeAR's Magic Links are ideal. Magic Links provide smart connections to plans in homeAR anywhere, on any device.

The "magic" means that it understands whether the user is viewing your site from a mobile or a desktop device. Desktop browser they will be presented a QR code for them to scan, while on mobile they will go directly to your plan on the homeAR app.

You can either add these links as hyperlinks with some descriptive text like:

Powering Your Social Media

Social media content is a vital component in a modern marketing mix and great way to bring highly-engaged new buyers into contact with your brand. But how do you stand out in the crowded digital space? By creating fresh, memorable, eye-catching, engaging and sharable content. In homeAR you have a powerful content creation engine in your pocket.

homeAR’s video and photos are a great way to keep up a stream of fresh, engaging content. That could be a nicely composed shot of the virtual model home on site before build commences, or even a video of one of your sales consultants walking through and while talking about some of the unique selling points.

Taking photos and video of your projects in the homeAR app is easy and an excellent way to create unique social media posts that:

  1. Showcase upcoming builds or past projects

  2. Celebrate the start of a new project

  3. Demonstrate the customer experience that sets you apart from your competition

  4. Generate sharable content for you and your happy clients

HOW TO: Take photos and video in the homeAR app

TIP 1: Lighting is everything! As in all photography, use the light to your advantage to take great shots.

TIP 2: Build the drama. Using the slider function to make the home appear slowly from the ground up is a great way to create impact and show the uniqueness of augmented reality

TIP 3: Keep it steady. For walk-through footage we recommend using a gimbal to stabilize your footage. The Osmo Mobile 6 is ideal and relatively inexpensive.

Connected Site Signage

homeAR's standard QR codes added to your on-site signage turn it into the perfect conduit to a unique and superior brand experience. Every plan in homeAR has its own unique QR code that makes it easy for buyers to enjoy life-sized viewing of homes you're building in new communities, house & land packages you have have for sale, or even your custom projects you have in progress.

Here are some ways that homeAR QR codes added to signs can help you drive new leads for your sales teams:

  1. New Communities: Add QR codes of the plans you have on offer to your signage around the new communities you are involved in. Not only does this provide a strong initial brand impression and deliver a great experience for buyers while they're visiting the community, plans are also saved to their homeAR app for them to take away to experience and discuss with friends and family. It's a great way for to put your brand experience and your contact information into the pockets of your buyers, so it keeps working for you beyond the initial interaction.

  2. House & Land Packages: Add the QR codes to your For Sale signs to provide potential buyers with a walk-through of the home where they need it most - on the lot in which it will be built. It's the best way to showcase the complete package and everything it has to offer. And the homeAR app provides viewers an easy way to email or call your sales consultants.

Custom Build Projects: While you're building a new custom home, your signage and branded safety barriers become great ways to showcase your brand to the communities in which you're building. Add homeAR QR codes to that signage to allow interested potential buyers to experience the home you're building for themselves or your portfolio of past projects.

TIP: We recommend locking your QR codes up along with an explanation of the value for buyers. We have templates like these available for you to use or customize:

Generating Referrals from Great Word-Of-Mouth

What better way to extend the reach of your brand than having excited buyers showing off their new home options or even their final plans at dinner parties, at the restaurant or on their social media?

The first thing most new home buyers want to do is discuss their exciting proiect with family and friends. Having their plans ready and available right on their phones is the ideal way to make this easy for them and the perfect showcase of both your buyer experience and the homes you build.

Whether they are purchasing a new home that you have for sale, building one of your plans on their lot, or building a custom home with you, adding the homeAR QR code to their information pack or printed plans is a powerful way to delight your buyers and generate positive word-of-mouth for your brand.

Enabling Your Realtor Partners

Selling something that doesn't exist (yet) is one of the toughest jobs in real estate. If you engage Realtors and Sales Agents to sell your properties, providing them with the ability to show buyers through your unbuilt homes gives them a valuable sales tool and a genuine edge over their (your) competition.

Some ways to extend homeAR to your Realtors:

  1. Share your homeAR listings with them: Send them the Magic Links to your listings and plans via SMS, email or IM. This will immediately save them to your realtor's shortlist in homeAR

  2. Provide QR codes for marketing: Supply QR codes to enable them to add homeAR viewing to their marketing material about your properties.

  3. Give them access to your plan portfolio: If appropriate, you can provide your realtor partners with full access to your homeAR catalogue by setting them up with "Consultant" access in the homeAR portal.

  4. Add homeAR Always-On to your listings: By setting up listings as "Always-On" your realtors can get buyers through your homes even when they aren't there. And it makes it even easier for them to do a guided viewing for potential buyers. They can even conduct Virtual Open Homes!

IDEA: Even if you aren't selling house & land packages, providing local realtors who are marketing empty lots with your home plans in homeAR gives them a great tool to help their buyers see themselves on the lot they are selling and in a home built by you!
