We recommend that you maintain your HomeBiogas unit periodically by doing the following. Don't worry—all the maintenance instruction will be detailed in the Owner's Manual you get with the unit!

 1. Replace the gas filter once a year. You can contact HomeBiogas or your local distributor for a filter replacement.

 2. Remove the sludge that accumulates at the bottom of the digestion tank. This should be removed once every 5 years. Once the sludge is removed from the digester, it can be applied directly to your garden as fertilizer or used to wet your compost heap. Alternatively, you can let it dry out and use the remaining residue as compost.

 3. Replace the chlorine tablet if it has dissolved completely, which should occur approximately every 2 months.
