Windows are one of the biggest sources of heat loss, so getting a clean thermal image of them really matters.
Three things to remember:
Frame the surrounding area. Capture at least a foot of wall around the window. We need to see the contrast between the window and the surrounding wall to spot leaks.
Leave blinds and curtains where they normally are. If you usually keep blinds down, scan with them down. We're assessing how your window performs in real life.
Avoid direct sunlight. Sunlight on the window heats the glass and washes out the thermal image. Scan when the window is in shade or at night.
If you have multiple windows in the same room, scan each one individually. They can perform very differently depending on age, exposure, and seal condition.
