Need to inspect on the go? The Web Report Writer (WRW) mobile app makes it easy to capture photos, write reports, and work offline. Once you're back online, everything syncs up with the cloud.

First Time Setup
To connect your mobile app to your HomeGauge account, you must first log in on the browser version of Web Writer.
Click on the Sign in @cloud.homegauge.com
Your browser will launch the Web Writer Browser with a login screen
Enter your HomeGauge Username and Password and click Login
Go to the Web Writer App and enter your HomeGauge Username and Password. Click Login.
Starting a Report
There are three ways to start a report using the Web Report Writer mobile app.
📅The mobile app shows inspections from 2 days in the past and up to 14 days in the future. For full access, use the web version.
✅ Method 1: Start from an Appointment
The easiest and most complete way to start a report is by creating an appointment on the Inspector Dashboard. This pulls in:
Customer and property info
Agreement and invoice details
Scheduled date and time

🔄 Method 2: Sync a Report from the Web
Already started a report in the web app? Pull it into the mobile app.
Make sure you're connected to the internet
In the mobile app, tap Refresh Data
If you see Connect to Sync instead, connect to Wi-Fi or data first
✍️ Method 3: Add an Inspection Manually
In the field with no internet? Start from scratch.
Tap Add Inspection
Fill in the required details:
Address
Inspection Date
Time
Tap Save
Later, you can link this report to an agreement on the Inspector Dashboard. See: Inspector Dashboard: Managing Documents
Writing the Report
Writing on the mobile app is just like the browser version, with some extras:

Preview and Publish
Publishing must be done in the Web Report Writer browser. Here's how:
Tap the left arrow to exit the report
Tap Sync to Cloud
Tap the menu icon (☰)
Tap Inspector Dashboard
A browser window will open
Click the Menu on the top left of the screen
Click Web Writer to launch the Web Writer Browser
Preview and publish your report
Send it to your clients

Export Photos
The Web Writer App can export photos for the report. This is useful if you need access to the photos. Some inspectors like to back up their photos on an external site like Google or a hard drive.
In an open inspection
Tap Media
Click the Three-Dot Menu
Tap Export Media → Export
Tap Cancel when finished
📱 The exported photos can be found in your phone’s Gallery.
