Choose Your Preferred Language

Switch HomeHunter’s interface to the language you speak—and have it stick across sessions and devices.

Updated over a week ago

On Settings › Language, pick from our full list of supported languages. HomeHunter saves your choice to your profile and caches translations locally for lightning-fast loads.

1. Open Language Settings

Navigate to Settings › Language in the left-hand menu. You’ll land on a page titled “Language Settings.”

2. See Your Current Selection

When the page loads, HomeHunter fetches your saved preference from your profile. The dropdown shows your current language (e.g., English – United States).

3. Pick a New Language

  1. Click the Language dropdown.

  2. Scroll or type to filter the list (e.g., “Español,” “Français,” “日本語”).

  3. Select your choice—HomeHunter will automatically:

    • Save it to your account via the API.

    • Fetch the matching translation file and store it in localStorage.

    • Apply the new language instantly on the page.

  4. A confirmation toast appears (“Language updated successfully”).

4. How Caching Speeds Things Up

To avoid repeated downloads, translations are stored locally for 24 hours. On startup, HomeHunter:

  • Reads your preferred_language entry from localStorage.

  • Loads cached translations if unexpired.

  • Otherwise, fetches fresh translation files from our servers and caches them again.

This ensures fast load times and that your language choice persists—even if you close and reopen your browser.

Quick Recap

  1. Settings › Language → open the Preferred Language page.

  2. Dropdown loads your saved language.

  3. Select a new language—auto-saved, fetched, and applied instantly.

  4. Cached for 24 hours in localStorage for faster loads.

Now you can navigate HomeHunter comfortably in the language you prefer—enjoy!
