Why Am I Seeing an Error Screen?

Learn what HomeHunter’s friendly error pages mean and how to get back on track in seconds.

Updated over a week ago

If something goes wrong—whether it’s a full-page crash, a missing URL, or just one dashboard widget—HomeHunter shows clear messages with easy options to retry or return home. This guide explains each error screen and your next steps.

1. Something Went Wrong (Unexpected Error)

When an unexpected issue occurs (network hiccup, backend failure, etc.), you’ll see a full-screen message:

  • Headline: “Something went wrong”

  • Message: Apology + “Please try again.”

  • Buttons:

    • Try Again – reloads the current view or runs a reset callback.

    • Go Home – sends you back to the dashboard home.

2. 404 Error (Page Not Found)

Visit a URL that no longer exists? HomeHunter shows a 404 Error page:

  • Headline: “404 Error”

  • Description: “Sorry, we cannot find the page you are looking for.”

  • Button: Go Back – takes you to the previous screen.

3. Section-Level Errors (Error Boundaries)

If only one part of a dashboard section fails (e.g., your browsing history or property feed), a smaller inline error appears:

  • Icon: Yellow warning triangle

  • Text: “Something went wrong” + brief context “loading this content.”

  • Button: Try Again – reloads just that section.

This keeps the rest of the page functional while you retry the failed component.

Quick Recap

  1. Unexpected Errors – Full-page message; click Try Again or Go Home.

  2. 404 Not Found – Click Go Back to return to safety.

  3. Section Errors – Inline alerts let you reload just the affected widget with Try Again.

Whenever you hit an error, these screens guide you back to your search or dashboard in just one click. Happy house hunting—without the hassle!
