What it is
Adult Programs is the program type for activities and events designed for adult participants rather than children. Schools use it for parent education and speaker series, community social events like fundraisers and mixers, adult enrichment classes, and professional development workshops for educators.
How it works
You create a season of adult programming the same way as any other season. Adult activities can live alongside youth activities in the same season or be organized separately.
When setting up each activity, you change the participant type from the default (Youth) to Adult. This tells Homeroom the activity is for adults, not children.
Because participant type is set to Adult, Homeroom skips youth-specific and school-related intake questions so registrants only see relevant fields.
In Setup > General Information, scroll to Participant Fields to configure the default questions for adult registrants. Date of birth is required; you can add any additional fields your program needs.
What you can use it for
Run a parent education or speaker series: Set up each session as a separate activity with participant type set to Adult. Families register through the same flow they use for children's programs.
Manage ticketing for community social events: Create activities for fundraisers, auctions, and more. Registration collects only adult-relevant information.
Offer adult enrichment classes: List cooking, language, fitness, or art classes alongside other school programs. Adults register through the same family-facing experience, with participant fields tailored to adults.
Run professional development workshops for educators: Create activities for staff or outside educators with participant type set to Adult. Manage enrollment and attendance the same way as any other program.
