What it is
Facility Rentals is programming where a school rents its physical spaces, such as rooms, gyms, or fields, to outside renters. Homeroom handles the request intake, pricing, document collection, and contracts so the school can approve rentals without manual back-and-forth.
How it works
You organize rentals into seasons, typically by school year or semester, so requests and revenue aggregate in one place.
Each facility is created as its own bookable space, named for the room or area, with availability windows that block out days and times the space is not for rent.
All facility rentals come in as requests, so a renter can submit a booking and see a default price, but nothing is charged until you approve.
You can ask renters custom questions during booking, including liability insurance confirmation and certificate of insurance upload.
Requests appear in the Enrollments tab with a notification, where you can edit the price, change the time, and approve.
Approving a request automatically sends the contract to the renter for signature, and contracts can be configured at the facility level.
What you can use it for
Rent out rooms and spaces to outside groups: Publish each room or area as its own facility with availability windows so renters see exactly when the space is open.
Approve rentals before charging the renter: Review each request in the Enrollments tab and adjust price or time before the renter is billed.
Collect liability insurance from renters: Add a custom question that asks renters to confirm coverage and upload their certificate of insurance.
Send rental contracts for signature: Attach a contract to a facility so that approving a request automatically routes it to the renter to sign.
Aggregate rentals by school year or semester: Group all rentals under one season so requests, revenue, and renters roll up cleanly in one view.
