This guide walks school IT administrators through setting up Veracross Single Sign-On (SSO) for Homeroom, so staff and families can log in using their existing Veracross credentials.
How it works
When SSO is enabled, Homeroom uses a user's Veracross account to handle both new account creation and login. Users do not need a separate Homeroom password.
After someone logs in with Veracross SSO for the first time, their Homeroom account is permanently linked to that login method. Any future login attempt using their email address will automatically redirect them to sign in via Veracross.
Users can also reach the standard Homeroom login page. If their email domain matches the school domain configured for Veracross SSO, they will be prompted to sign in through Veracross automatically.
The direct login URL for your school is: https://www.homeroom.com/login/<school-domain>
Setting up the integration
Open the Axiom Marketplace for Schools.
In the search bar, type "Homeroom."
Select the Homeroom integration from the results and follow the prompts to enable Veracross SSO.
When prompted for a redirect URI, enter:
https://homeroom.com/login/veracross/callback
Add the following two scopes to the integration:
ssoContact_info:read
Once SSO is enabled, email hello@homeroom.com or your Homeroom onboarding manager. Include the school domain you want to use for login. The Homeroom team will associate your users with Veracross on the back end.
Once the Homeroom team confirms setup is complete, your users can log in at https://www.homeroom.com/login/<school-domain> using their Veracross credentials.
