Already enrolled and just need more days? Don't register again. To add days, update the expected schedule on the registration you already have, using the steps below. |
Activities billed by attendance
This article covers activities that are billed by attendance. You're only billed when your child actually attends, based on check-in and check-out in Homeroom.
When you registered, the school may have asked for an expected schedule - the days you plan to send your child. That schedule tells the school which days to expect your child and holds their spot. It isn't what you're charged for. Your charge follows attendance.
Schools ask for the expected schedule in one of two ways, and that's what you'll edit:
Specific dates - you pick dates on a calendar.
Days of the week - you pick the weekdays that repeat.
Where to update your expected schedule
Schedule changes happen in your Homeroom account, on the Payment page, not on the activity's registration page.
Log in to Homeroom.
In the left menu, under Family, click Payment.
Scroll to the Billed later section. This lists each child's enrollments that are billed after they attend.
Find your child's row for the activity you want to change, and click Change schedule on the right.
A window opens showing the participant, the price and how it's billed, and the schedule you have now.
Adding or removing specific dates
If your school asked for specific dates, your current days appear as chips at the top and are highlighted on the calendar.
To add a day: click that date on the calendar. It's added to your schedule.
To remove a day: click the x on the date chip, or click the highlighted date on the calendar again.
Use the month and year dropdowns, or the arrows, to move to another month.
Click OK to save. You'll see a Schedule changed confirmation.
The calendar legend tells you which dates you can pick:
Enrollment - the period your enrollment covers.
Activity days - days the activity actually runs. These are the days you can select.
No activity days - days the activity doesn't run, such as holidays and breaks. These can't be selected.
Adding or removing days of the week
If your school asked for days of the week instead, you'll see a list of weekday checkboxes rather than a calendar. Check the days you want, uncheck the ones you don't, and click OK. The change applies to every week going forward.
What this does to your bill
Nothing immediately. Because these activities are billed by attendance, adding a day doesn't charge you for it, and removing a day doesn't credit you for it. You're billed for the time your child is actually checked in, totaled up and charged after the fact, so attendance on any day you add shows up on a later invoice.
Days your child already attended stay on your bill even if you remove those dates from your expected schedule.
If you don't see "Change schedule"
Each school decides whether the expected schedule can be updated after registration. If the link isn't there, it's one of these:
The school prefers to make schedule changes for you. Message them and they can add or remove days on your behalf.
The school didn't ask for an expected schedule for this activity, so there's nothing to edit. Your child can attend any day the activity runs, and you're billed for the days they attend.
The activity isn't billed by attendance. It's on a set price or a set weekly schedule, which families can't change themselves.
The enrollment isn't in the Billed later section, for example because it was paid up front.
In every one of those cases, contact your school or the activity provider. Please don't register a second time, as that creates a duplicate enrollment that someone has to undo.
