This article provides all the information you need to make sure your digital guest guides are set up and how to send the guide to guests before their arrival.

What information will be included in the guest guide?

The guest guide has been built so that the information is pulled from the property details page. This way, you only have to update one central database instead of updating multiple documents when information changes. In addition, all changes made to the property details page will automatically update in the guest guide.

Only information that is useful to guests will be included in the guest guide. A notebook icon is displayed next to each section, so you can easily tell what will be made available to guests.

How do I update the Amenities & Facilities section?

Because the Hometime platform is connected via Airbnb's official API, the amenities need to be updated in the Airbnb listing rather than on the Hometime platform. You can easily jump to your Airbnb listing by clicking “Edit in Airbnb” at the top of the property page.

However, we have included additional amenities & facilities that aren’t available on Airbnb and space for additional notes or documents. These additional amenities and notes have to be amended on the Hometime platform. You can easily see which sections need to be amended on Airbnb, as they are not editable and greyed out.

Additional notes can also be added for each amenity, so you can add things like Wifi passwords, Netflix login details, or where the lightswitch for the balcony is located. This is useful for guests to have this information and reduces the number of questions asked. You can also add photos or copies of manuals as attachments.

How do I send the guest guide to incoming guests?

Our recommendation is to send the digital guest guide in an automated message, so you never have to remember to do it. However, you also have the ability to send manually if you wish.

  • A shortcode has been created for the guest guide, which can be added to an automated message. Add the guest guide to an existing message, or create a new one. Find out how to create an automated message and use the shortcodes here.

  • To send the guest guide manually, go to "Bookings", click on "Upcoming", and then find the relevant booking at the bottom of the page press the button to send the guest guide.

How do guests access the digital guest guide?

Guests will open the guest guide by opening the hyperlink sent to them via Airbnb messenger, which automatically opens in their browser.

The guide will only be available 72 hours before their check-in and 24 hours after they check-out. If you don’t want the guest having access to the guest guide that far in advance, send it closer to the date of check-in.

If the guest attempts to access the guest guide outside of those timeframes, they will receive the following messages:

How do I preview the guest guide?

To review your guest guide before sending it to guests, you can preview it by clicking the link on the property information page.
