Inviting homeowners to your workspace

If you manage properties on behalf of homeowners, you can invite them to a dedicated owner portal. The owner portal provides them with property information, a calendar view of their bookings, and financial statements. This gives owners peace of mind and prevents many day-to-day questions since they can self-service through the portal. They can even block their own dates in the calendar, a common feature request.


Assigning a Homeowner to their Property

Firstly, the owner needs to be assigned to their property; otherwise, there will be no information in their dashboard when they sign in. To assign the owner to the property, go to "Properties", search for their listing and select "Assign homeowner".

Here, you can either select the owner from the dropdown list if they have already been added as a user or manually enter their details if they haven't.

Inviting a Homeowner to your Workspace

Next, the homeowner needs to be invited to the owner portal. To do this, go to "Users" and select "Homeowners". All of your homeowners will be listed with their status so you can see who hasn't been invited yet and who has accepted their invitation.

To send or resend an invite to an owner, select the send invite icon. You can also deactivate an owner using the edit icon.

You can also add new homeowners from the same page. To add a new owner, select "+ Add homeowner" and enter their details. Tick the "Invite to Workspace" checkbox if you want to invite them at the same time. A reminder that they need to be assigned to their property; otherwise, there won't be any information in their portal when they log in.

Homeowner Support

The Hometime support chat bubble is not available in the owner portal. This is to ensure you control all communication with your customers. Below are some basic troubleshooting steps, but please contact us through the chat bubble or email us at support@hometimeapp.io if you require any support.

Basic Troubleshooting

The owner hasn't received their email invitation

  • Ask them to check their junk mail as the email may have been marked as spam.

  • Try resending the invitation if they could not find the email.

The owner can log in, but their property isn't appearing

  • Make sure you have followed the first step and assigned the owner to their property.

The owner is having trouble logging into their workspace

  • Check the status of your workspace account plan and ensure you are subscribed to the Starter plan.
