Assigning a project to a team member

How to assign a project or inquiry to a member of your team

Updated over a week ago

Once you've added your team to HoneyBook, not only can they create and manage their own projects, but you can easily assign any projects or incoming inquiries over to them as well! Then, your team member will be able to access the project via their own pipeline, and will be in full control of the project.

📣 Note

This article references accounts with multiple team members, available for HoneyBook’s Essentials and Premium plan members. Learn more about the features included in each plan here.

To automatically assign new inquiries via the contact form to a team member, follow the steps for customizing the contact form here, and select the appropriate recipient from the drop-down menu in your Settings section. If you're using multiple contact forms, you can even select a different assigned team members for each form.

For existing projects, there are two ways to assign: via the project pipeline view, or from within the project itself.

To assign a project via the pipeline:

1.  From your HoneyBook home page, click the Projects tab.

2.  Find the project you're looking to assign.

3.  Hover over project and click the Options button that appears.

4.  Click Assign to team member.

5.  Click to select the team member to whom you'll be assigning the project.

6.  Click Done.

Your team member will receive an email notification of the assignment, along with a link to the project for easy access.

📣 Note

Re-assigning a project to another team member will remove the original project assignee from the project. If the original project assignee should still be involved in the project, they'll need to be added as a participant.

To assign a project from within a project workspace:

1.  Navigate to the project that requires reassignment.

  • Search via the search icon in the top left corner of your Home page, or select the Projects tab to review your full list of Projects.

  • Creating a new Project? Learn how here.

2.  In the grey Project Options section, click the 3-dot icon.

3.  Select Assign to team member.

4.  Click to select the team member to whom you'll be assigning the project.

5.  Click Done.

Your team member will receive an email notification of the assignment, along with a link to the project for easy access.

📣 Note

Re-assigning a project to another team member will remove the original project assignee from the project. If the original project assignee should still be involved in the project, they'll need to be added as a participant.
