Connecting your bank account to HoneyBook

How to direct incoming funds to the bank account of your choice

Updated over a week ago

The ability to collect payments directly through HoneyBook is one of the platform's most powerful features. That's why it's important to connect your bank account—it lets us transfer your clients' payments right to you.

📣 Note

We always have your safety in mind, so 2-step verification—calling or texting you with a unique code—is required when adding or making changes to your business and banking information. Make sure your phone number is accurate in your personal Account Settings before proceeding.

Where to add or edit your business and bank account information

1. From any page, click your profile photo in the top right corner of your screen.

2. Select Company Settings from the menu.

3. Select the Bank Details tab.

How to connect your bank account

Once you've navigated to the Bank Details tab, add the required bank account and business details–just select your business entity type below and follow the corresponding steps. You can link a business or a personal bank account.

Not sure of your business entity type?

  • Individual: You own & run a business, but do not have an EIN (Employer Identification Number). You use your social security number when filing your taxes.

  • Sole Proprietor: You own & run a business and were issued an EIN. If you have filled out an SS-4 Form to register your business with the IRS, you have a government issued EIN. Alternatively, if your organization is a registered nonprofit, please select this entity type when connecting your bank account to HoneyBook.

  • LLC-Partnership-Corp.: You pay taxes as an LLC, partnership, or corporation. If you have filled out an SS-4 Form to register your business with the IRS, you have a government issued EIN.

Be very careful to select the correct business type. Otherwise, deposits to your bank account will not process. If you are still uncertain which type to select, contact us by clicking the Question Mark icon on any HoneyBook page.

All of the information we collect when verifying your business, owner, and bank account details is for identification purposes, helping to keep you and your business safe from fraud. The US government has recently released a new regulation, requiring the collection of pieces of information—you can read more about that here. No other members can retrieve, view, or otherwise access the info requested above.

In accordance with HoneyBook’s obligation to “Know Your Customer” (KYC), we periodically conduct account reviews and may require some additional information from you. These requirements come from our regulators and are intended to prevent abuse of the financial system. During the review any payments you have received will be held until we complete the process.
