How to run a free background check through the HONK app

5 easy steps to complete your free background check

HONK offers free background checks for all dispatchers and operators using Checkr. This is done to ensure the safety and security of customers nationwide. To run a free background check please follow the steps below:

Note: The background check can only be started by drivers who have been dispatched on a HONK job. The most common reason the background check cannot be started is because the driver has not been dispatched on a job yet.

Step 1: Open the app

Begin by opening the HONK Partner app on your cell phone or tablet. Once you have opened the app click the "Menu" bar (3 horizontal lines) in the top right-hand corner of the screen: 

Step 2: Click the Menu button

When you click the "Menu" bar you will notice four options appear. At this point, you'll want to click on the "Profile" tab (second from the top):

Step 3:  Start the background check

Once you are on the app's "Profile" page, you will notice a button on the bottom of the screen that reads, "START BACKGROUND CHECK." When clicking that, you will be directed to run a free background check through Checkr

Please note that the button will only appear if a background check has not yet been linked to your app. The button will disappear once you have completed and gotten your background check approved:

Step 4: Fill in your name

The next step is to fill out your first and last name and email address to START the background check. 

Step 5: Confirm your information

Once you've done that, you will simply need to confirm your information and submit the background check. The background check can take anywhere from a few minutes to a couple of days to process.
