How do I resolve the 401 error code on the App?

Updated this week

Understanding Error Code 401

Error code 401 is usually triggered by:

  • Authentication failure due to mismatched login credentials or session data

  • App compatibility issues with your device or operating system

  • Too many devices logged in at one time

Troubleshooting Steps

To resolve error code 401, follow these steps:

1. Reset the App

  • Log out of the app on all devices.

  • Delete the app from all devices.

  • Reinstall the app on one device as a test to ensure compatibility and proper login.

2. Reset Your Password

  • If you are unable to log into the website or app and encounter error code 401, consider resetting your password. Ensure your password reset email doesn’t land in your spam folder.

3. Resolve Persistent Errors

If reinstalling the app and resetting the password does not resolve the problem:

  • Check to see how many other devices are logged into the App with your credentials. Being logged into more than 3 devices at one time will cause this issue to occur.

  • Try logging out of all devices and log back in

When to Contact Support

If the above steps fail, contact Hooked & Company Support and provide the gathered diagnostic information for deeper investigation into the issue.

  • Gather diagnostic details, including the following: - Screenshot or video of the error - Device specifications: type, operating system, and version - Current Wi-Fi strength, storage capacity, and RAM availability
