Hoot gives you multiple ways to log your food—so you can use whatever fits your style (or your hands-free moments).

Voice & Text Logging with Hoot

Talk or type like you’re chatting with a friend.

Examples:

  • “I had two scrambled eggs, a piece of toast, and orange juice.”

  • “Grilled chicken with rice and broccoli.”

Hoot uses natural language processing to break it all down into calories and macros. It works best when you're casual but specific (e.g., don’t just say “lunch”).

Photo Logging: Snap, Analyze, Save

Take a picture of your food and let Hoot do the heavy lifting.

  1. Tap the camera icon

  2. Snap a photo (or upload one)

  3. Hoot analyzes the image and gives you a meal estimate

  4. You confirm or adjust

Great for visual learners or when you’re eating something homemade or complex.

Barcode and Food Label Scanning

Quickly log packaged foods using the scanner.

Barcode:

  • Tap the barcode icon

  • Scan the item’s barcode

  • Hoot will pull up the nutrition info and log it for you

Label Scan:

  • Take a photo of the nutrition label

  • Hoot extracts and converts it into calories, macros, and more

Perfect for quick snacks, drinks, and grocery items.
