Hoot makes it easy to manage your subscription directly through the app or your device’s app store. Whether you want to upgrade to Annual, downgrade to Monthly, restore access, or cancel, you stay fully in control.

1. Where to Manage Your Subscription

You can manage your subscription in two places:

A. Inside Hoot (Customer Center)

Go to:
Settings → Subscription
This opens the RevenueCat Customer Center, where you can:

  • View your active plan

  • See your next billing date

  • Manage your payment method

  • Switch between Monthly and Annual

  • Redeem available offers or discounts

  • Restore subscription access

  • Access support if something looks wrong

The Customer Center provides a clean, centralized place to manage everything tied to your Hoot plan.

B. Through Your Device’s App Store

Because Hoot uses secure App Store / Play Store billing, some actions—like cancellation—must be done through your device:

On iOS (Apple App Store):

  1. Open Settings

  2. Tap your Apple ID

  3. Go to Subscriptions

  4. Select Hoot

  5. Manage or cancel your subscription

On Android (Google Play Store):

  1. Open the Google Play Store

  2. Tap your profile icon

  3. Go to Payments & Subscriptions

  4. Select Subscriptions

  5. Choose Hoot to manage or cancel

2. Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan

You can switch plans any time:

Upgrade to Annual (Recommended)

  • Switch inside Settings → Subscription

  • Your app store may prorate remaining time on your Monthly plan

  • Your new Annual billing period begins immediately

Downgrade to Monthly

  • Available at your next renewal date

  • You can set this change in advance in your app store subscription settings

Plan options:

  • Monthly: $9.99/month

  • Annual: $39.99/year (best value)

Pricing may vary by region.

3. Restoring Your Subscription

If you switch devices, reinstall Hoot, or see a locked screen even though you’re already a subscriber:

Go to:
Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases

This reconnects your active plan to your account through Apple or Google’s billing system.

4. Canceling Your Subscription

To avoid accidental charges, only the App Store or Google Play Store can process cancellations.

Hoot cannot cancel subscriptions through chat or email.

Once you cancel:

  • Your subscription remains active until the end of the billing period

  • You won’t be charged again

  • You can reactivate any time through the same menu

5. Checking Your Next Billing Date

You can view your renewal date anytime:
Settings → Subscription

Your exact billing date and plan type (Monthly or Annual) are displayed clearly in the Customer Center.

6. What Happens If Your Payment Fails

If your payment method expires or fails:

  • Your app store may retry the charge automatically

  • You may temporarily lose access to Hoot

  • Update your payment method in your app store settings to restore access

  • Tap Restore Purchases after updating billing info

The Bottom Line

Managing your subscription is simple. Use the Customer Center inside Hoot for quick updates and the App Store/Play Store for cancellation or payment issues. If something ever looks off, our support team is always here to help.
