Advice & instructions on how to install your classic or evolve retractable hose reel.

When installing a Classic Hoselink hose reel, choosing the right mounting option and following proper installation guidelines are crucial for ensuring stability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.

This article provides an overview of mounting options, installation tips, troubleshooting advice, and installation surface specific considerations.

Mounting options include;

Wall mount (check your surface is suitable HERE), with the provided wall bracket

Ground mount using a mounting post or ground mount. This can be purchased HERE or self customed at home.

Installation service

We also offer an installation service for your convenience click HERE for full details.

There is an additional fee for this service.

Our installation partners will only install the wall bracket on to brick or timber surfaces, the mounting post onto soil or grass & the ground mount onto timber/masonry.

Concrete

Yes, subject to conditional requirements

This does not apply to aerated concrete which has additional requirements.

Use provided instructions &

  • Use Masonry drill bit & provided masonry plugs.

  • Use the hammer setting on your power drill or a rotary drill. (start off with normal drill setting)

Solid Brick

Yes, subject to conditional requirements

Use provided instructions &

  • Use masonry drill bit & provided masonry plugs.

  • Use the hammer setting on your power drill or a rotary drill.(start off with normal drill setting)

Hollow Brick

Yes, subject to conditional requirements

Use provided instructions &

  • Anchor the plugs with sikaflex. Blow out any debris in drill holes, fill each hole halfway with Sikaflex & tap in the masonry plugs. Let them dry overnight, then attach the bracket.

Steel

Yes, subject to conditional requirements

Use provided instructions &

  • A wooden backing board must be anchored to the surface and secured into a wooden stud behind the material. At least one screw top and bottom must be used to secure the board into the stud.

  • The hose reel cannot be anchored to a wall that has steel stud framing.

Colourbond

  • A wooden backing board must be anchored to the surface and secured into a stud behind the material. At least one screw top and bottom must be used to secure the board into the stud.

Wood

Hebel / Aerated concrete / Cement Fibre

  • Use Masonry drill bit & provided masonry plugs.

  • Anchor the plugs with sikaflex. Blow out any debris in drill holes, fill each hole halfway with Sikaflex & tap in the masonry plugs. Let them dry overnight, then attach the bracket.

Plaster

Dependent on substrate material.

Plaster over solid brick or into a solid stud is suitable. If you are unsure we strongly recommend using a mounting post instead to avoid damage to wall.

  • Ensure substrate material is solid brick or a solid stud.

  • A wooden backing board must be anchored to the surface and secured into a stud behind the material. At least one screw top and bottom must be used to secure the board into the stud.

  • Use a spearhead drill to start holes

Render

Dependent on substrate material.

Render over solid brick or into a solid stud is suitable. If you are unsure we strongly recommend using a mounting post instead to avoid damage to wall.

EPS

No, you cannot install on to this material. We recommend using a mounting post instead to avoid damage to wall.

Weatherboard

Yes, subject to conditional requirements.

Use provided instructions &

  • If the cladding surface is flat, the bracket can be secured directly onto the wall and into a stud behind the material.

  • If the surface is uneven - a wooden backing board must be anchored to the surface and secured into a stud behind the material. At least one screw top and bottom must be used to secure the board into the stud.

Tiles

Yes, subject to conditional requirements.

  • Use Masonry drill bit & provided masonry plugs.
